Projects

Flag Pole:

When there was equipment available to move the flag pole. The rope was moved from the old pole to the new one and then the new pole was erected. The new pole is taller than the old one and on that work day the only rope we had available was the old one.

Project:
Install an extension at the top of the pole, to lift the flag to the top of a flag staff that puts it above the top of the pole.

Equipment Needed:
A boom truck, "Cherry Picker", bucket van. Some piece of equipment where work could be safely carried out to install a flag staff at the top of the pole and string a new rope.

Target Frames:
An anonymous donor has contributed funds to rebuild the 200 yard target frame stands, the first work day of the season will concentrate on those repairs.

Trespassers:
Next to the bridge, adjacent to the county road. Some off road type vehicles have been entering the property. Either boulders or logs need to be placed in that location or a row of fence posts set to block entry there.

Fencing:
The club owns a good supply of wood posts and may hundreds of yards of barbed wire.

The fence from the farmer’s gate east to and past the 200-yard berm needs repaired to keep neighboring cattle off the shooting park property. To the North of the gate the fence is in sad shape but this does not border our property. To correct this a new fence needs to be erected from the gate west along the property line to the bank of the creek.

Because of the poor road ditch maintenance west from the shooting park main gate to the bridge, it has been suggested that WWGC move that fence into the property far enough to leave room for tractor mounting mowing equipment to pass between the road bank and the fence. Posts with “No Trespassing” signs should be placed where the fence is now.
