The following are the only calibers allowed during the action pistol stage: 22 (Short & LR), 25 Auto, 32 Auto, 38 Special, 9mm Luger, 40 S&W and 45 ACP.

Scoring

Time will be kept for each of the five strings in this stage. Each of five metal targets must be hit during each string of fire. One of these plates will be the designated stop plate and must be hit last to stop the timer. If you hit the stop plate before you hit all four other targets, the timer continues to run. You must go back and hit the missed plate and then the stop plate again to stop the timer. No string will be longer than 30 seconds and a maximum of 30 seconds will be assigned any string that is not completed. The best four out of five strings will be totaled and that total will be counted as the final score for this stage.

Preparation

When instructed to by the RSO, the shooter will bring his gear to the shooting stand. The pistol being used must remain boxed, cased, or bagged until the RSO gives permission for it to be removed. In conjunction with the RSO the shooter will stage his magazines, speed loaders, and ammo based on his preference-belted or benched. Once the RSO has inspected the shooters pistol he will be given clearance to either bench or holster the firearm. Once the shooter has his eye protection and hearing protection on and feels he is ready, his hands should be held at the “Surrender position”, which is shoulder high, with the wrists and full hands visible from behind.

Starting Commands

An audible timer start will be used. The command given will be “Shooter ready?-Stand by.” There will be a delay of 2 to 3.5 seconds before the start signal will sound. The shooter will then draw his pistol or pick it up from the bench, insert magazine, speed loader, etc, chamber a round, and begin to engage the target. After the shooter completes each string of fire he will “open and show clear” to the RSO. He will then be given clearance to re-holster or bench in preparation for the next string.

Stage Completion

When all strings in this stage have been completed and the RSO has inspected the shooter’s pistol, permission will be given for the firearm to be boxed, cased, or bagged. The shooter can then proceed to the next stage of the match.  Remember-WWGC is a non-holstered firearm range. Your holster can be left on your belt, but it must be empty as you move about the range between stages.
